Christine Warfel, BA,CSA,CMC
Certified Geriatric Care Manager

After graduating magna cum laude from Virginia Wesleyan College with a degree in social science, Christine Warfel began contributing her numerous talents to healthcare and nonprofit organizations. Accredited as a Certified Senior Advisor and a Certified Geriatric Care Manager, Chris' diverse experience now benefits the clients of FamilyCare Senior Solutions.

For more than 17 years, Chris held management positions, first with Portsmouth Psychiatric Center and then with The Barry Robinson Center in Norfolk. In 1997 she began volunteering with the Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, and has since filled several leadership roles with the organization. In 2003, she developed and presented a program to train Charlottesville police officers in identifying and interacting with Alzheimer's patients. Before joining FamilyCare, Chris worked as events manager for the local Alzheimer's Association chapter for two years.

Her community service has also included donating time to Literacy Volunteers of America, acting as alumni ambassador for Virginia Wesleyan College, and coordinating her church's winter sheltering program for the homeless for seven years. Chris serves on the board of directors of Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia. She is a member of the Portsmouth, Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Peninsula chapters of the Task Force on Aging and the Senior Services Coalition of Williamsburg.
